$100 Laptop Gets Closer

The International Herald Tribune has a story about MIT's so-called $100 Laptop initiative. It's looking pretty cool, and I believe that there's not much that kids (or most adults, really) need to do that such a machine won't be able to do.

Of course it runs Linux. Microsoft and friends are scurrying to get something else cheap to market quickly. It could be devastating for a generation of kids to grow up not assuming that Windows and MS Office were the only way to do anything.
